It Is All About Engagement!

Blog engagement is ultimately all the ways your audience can interact with your post - apart from the creation of the content itself, engagement with the content is the most important thing : to share the information to as big an audience as possible, to get your thoughts and ideas across and particularly if you are looking to monetise your blog.

Roughly 51% of marketers said it is becoming more and more difficult to capture the attention of their intended demographic (Content Marketing Institute, 2023), so it is no surprise that there is lots of research being done into how to get engagement. Lets have a look what many researchers found so far:

1. “Content is King” - The content itself is actually the main driver. Write about what people want to read, and people will read it. It's a no-brainer! Original and unique content surrounding hot topics and trending ideas is a good start.

2. Trigger Words – Use words that will rope people in, and keywords that will likely gain traction in search engines such as ‘FREE’, ‘Proven’, ‘easy’ and ‘new’. As well as using keywords around trending news stories etc. that people will be looking up.

3.Ask for Engagement – Tell readers to like, subscribe and comment and they’ll be more likely to do just that. Ask them what they think and ask for their ideas – this also helps you understand your audience to up the views further.

4. Engage Back – reply to comments, recognise your audience’s key role in your blog, like and share other blogger’s content and they'll help you out too.

5. Easy on the eyes – Include pictures, the design of your blog page is huge, and the cover photo of your blog may be the make or break in the decision of whether to click it or not... capture attention!
